MECON Limited, formerly known as Metallurgical & Engineering Consultants (India) Limited is a PSU under the Steel Ministry of the Indian Government. Earlier it was a subsidiary of the Steel Authority of India (SAIL) in 1973.later it became an autonomous company reporting to the Steel Ministry in 1978. MECON Limited provides services & consultancy in Power, Energy & Environment, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Metallurgy areas mainly.
Management Trainee Selection Process:
Mecon will be using the GATE 2013 Score card for the recruitment of MTT 2013. Based on the GATE Score candidates will be shortlisted & called for the interview.
Candidate have to apply separately in MECON Website with their GATE Registration number for the MTT Post. T his will start from 15th Jan 2013 in Mecon Website.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Full time regular Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering /Technology from a recognized Indian University / Institute (AICTE approved) in Mechanical & Civil disciplines with minimum 65% or 6.5 CGPA (if calculated out of 10 points) in aggregate of all years/ semesters.
- SC/ST candidates should have 55% or 5.5 (if calculated out of 10 points) in aggregate of all years of the Engineering.

- Mechanical : 25 Posts
- Civil : 15 Posts
Salary Details:
The selected candidates will be appointed as Management Trainee (Technical)i.e MTT and will be given job training for one year. During training, Basic Pay of Rs 20,600/- in the scale of pay of Rs20600-3%-46500/- will be paid to the candidate. After successfully completeing the training candidates will pe absorbed as Assistant Design Engineer & The compensation package on cost to company (CTC) basis would be around Rs 7.25 lakhs per annum.
